Hakan Çınar

Hakan Çınar was born in Trabzon in 1983. In 2011, he completed his undergraduate education at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture. In 2012, he started his master's degree at Mimar Sinan University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Sculpture. The artist continues to work in his studio in Istanbul.

 

The transmission of all experiences, thoughts and emotions acquired throughout human history between generations constitutes the main dynamic of Hakan Çınar sculptures. In his sculptures, the artist searches for what the past says with the syntax of the present through the human body that thinks, sees, hears but also forgets, shows illusion as reality and changes shape. In his sculpture practice, where he prefers to emphasize moments, emotions and situations in which intergenerational transmission is interrupted, the search for a cramped order and a closed form often manifests itself as a result of this.
