Biography
Nevres Akın was born in 1978 in Eskişehir, Turkey. He began his artistic journey with an academic education at Anadolu University, Faculty of Education, Department of Visual Arts Education, graduating in 2001. Following his graduation, he channeled his passion for art into education, working as an art teacher. He continues his artistic practice in his studio in Eskişehir.

Akın’s art embodies a unique narrative that merges science and artistic expression within a shared intellectual framework. Scientific concepts such as string theory, quantum mechanics, and the relationship between time and space serve as the foundational elements of his visual world. His works interpret the dynamics and vibrational nature of the microcosm through abstract compositions, questioning the boundaries between matter and emptiness.
Drawing and line play a defining role in Akın’s artistic production. In his early works, he was influenced by Rembrandt’s engravings, deepening his understanding of classical drawing techniques. His compositions are marked by intense linear structures, a sense of movement, and a mathematical order. Recurring motifs such as train tracks, stations, gears, and industrial elements reflect his inquiries into the perception of time and space.

Throughout his career, Akın has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions. In 2019, he was invited to the Szentendre Artists’ Colony, one of Europe’s most established artist communities, where he worked in Hungary. This experience introduced new perspectives on the relationship between memory and space in his works and laid the foundation for his exhibition “Hungary and After.”

Nevres Akın continues to bring a fresh perspective to contemporary painting, transforming the intellectual depth of science into artistic expression.
