Galeri 77 is taking place in Contemporary Istanbul with a very special selection gathering the artworks produced in a wide spectrum ranging from expressionism to surreal works, from neo pop-art to experimental art, abstract and minimalist pieces of represented 27 local and foreign artists. The fair, bringing together local and foreign contemporary art galleries from all around the world, is being held in the historical atmosphere of Tersane Istanbul beginning with a preview between September 26th-27th and continued with general visits of art enthusiasts between September 28th - October 1st.
Contemporary Istanbul is hosting 67 contemporary art galleries, 4 art initiatives and 4 art institutions from 22 countries this year. Besides, the fair, in which a new project named “CI Photo Focus” that emphasises the importance of photography as an art form and a project field named “The Yard” that consists exterior sculptures and installations will also take place, is celebrating the dynamism, cultural diversity and productive energy of the city while removing the conception over the event solely as an art fair by combining the prominent wine & dine venues of the city with DJ performances.
Galeri 77 is participating the eighteenth edition of the fair this year with exciting artworks, produced in diverse styles and various techniques, of represented artists Armen Agop, Ara Alekian, Karen Arakel, Narek Arzumanyan, Gayane Avetissian, Roman Babakhanian, Gurgen Babayan, Vahram Davtian, Bayram Demir, Gago, Armen Gevorkian, Sedat Girgin, Hakan Gürbüzer, Vav Hakobyan, Mehmet Resul Kaçar, Roman Kakoyan, Mesut Karakis, David Martirosyan, Rafael Megall, Daron Mouradian, Mikayel Ohanjanyan, Ani Qananyan, Armén Rotch, Kirkor Sahakoglu, Arthur Tonakanyan, Halil Sercan Tunali and Arman Vahanyan. Being put together meticulously and providing vast diversity to viewers, this special selection is not only reflecting the sense of art of Galeri 77 and its identity as one of the prominent galleries of Istanbul but also bringing forth the formal and intellectual richness of contemporary art. The selection that provides an opportunity to compare and connect between various artworks can be explored at the Galeri 77 booth T7-24 during the fair.
